Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle physiotherapy technique that aims to support the function of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is responsible for removing fluid, waste products and toxins from tissues. Lymphatic drainage helps improve lymph flow and reduce swelling.

  • Relieve edema and swelling, especially after injury or surgery
  • Improving blood circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Removal of metabolic waste and toxins from tissue
  • Support in rehabilitation after plastic surgery or liposuction
  • Relief from lymphatic diseases such as lymphedema

Indications

Lymphatic drainage may be indicated in the following situations:

  • Edema and swelling after injuries or operations
  • Lymphedema, which is caused by a disorder of the lymphatic system
  • Swelling during pregnancy
  • Detoxification and support of the immune system

Your specialist lymphatic drainage therapist will determine the appropriate technique and intensity of treatment according to your individual needs and health status. Lymphatic drainage can help improve health and well-being and play an important role in postoperative rehabilitation.

Treatment process

Lymphatic drainage is carried out by a specially trained physiotherapist. The technique involves gentle, rhythmic movements that stimulate lymph flow. The therapist uses light touch and special grips to move the lymph toward the lymph nodes, where it is cleaned and purified. The treatment usually takes place in a relaxing and calm environment.
