Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a specialized physiotherapeutic technique that uses targeted hand movements and mobilization techniques to improve the mobility of joints and muscles. It aims to reduce pain, restore freedom of movement and optimize the functionality of the body.

Goal and benefit

The aim of manual therapy is to relieve muscle tension, mobilize joints and restore natural body movement. This can mean pain relief, improved joint function and an increased quality of life for patients. It is often used to treat problems in the musculoskeletal system, such as back pain, joint stiffness and posture problems.

Indications

Manual therapy can be indicated for a variety of muscular and orthopedic complaints. These include, among others:

  • Back pain
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Joint stiffness
  • Herniated discs
  • Sports injuries
  • Arthrosis
  • Posture problems

Your physiotherapist will determine the indication for manual therapy as part of a thorough examination and diagnosis and create an individual treatment plan.

Treatment process

During a pelvic floor therapy session, the therapist works specifically with exercises and techniques to strengthen and coordinate the pelvic floor. This can be achieved through breathing exercises, muscle training and manual therapy. The treatment is individually tailored and often requires the active cooperation of the patient.
