Taping, also known as kinesiology taping or physical therapy taping, is a method in which elastic bands are applied to the skin to provide support, stability and pain relief in specific areas of the body. This tape is made of flexible material and is breathable, which means it adapts well to the skin.

Goal and benefit
The main goals of taping are to relieve pain, improve joint stability, support muscle function and promote healing. It offers a non-invasive way to treat a variety of orthopedic and muscular problems. Benefits include: Relieving pain and inflammation Stabilizing joints and muscles Improving blood circulation and lymphatic flow Assisting in rehabilitation after injuries Promoting proprioceptive perception (body awareness) Preventing overuse and injuries

Indications
Taping can be used for a wide range of orthopedic and muscular problems, as well as to assist with various sporting activities, including:
- Joint instability (e.g. ankle sprains)
- Muscle injuries and muscle strains
- Neck and back pain
- Shoulder and elbow problems
- Knee and hip problems
- Improving sports performance and preventing injuries
- Rehabilitation after surgical interventions
Your physical therapist will determine the appropriate application and tension of the tape to address your specific needs and achieve the desired results. Taping is a versatile and effective method for pain relief and supporting mobility.
Treatment process
The tape is applied by a qualified physiotherapist or a trained user. It is applied to the affected area of skin, with the tension of the tape varying depending on the objective. The application is usually carried out in specific patterns that are tailored to the individual needs of the patient. Depending on the application, the tape can be worn for several days to a week as it is water-resistant and does not affect skin breathing.
